Helpful Highlights

  • The Board of Education voted to amend the calendar. Students will now be in school on Monday, April 13. 

  • We had four members of the Woodford County Public Schools family to highlight. Each of these individuals brings positivity, inspiration, and dedication to their role in the district. We are so grateful for the countless ways these honorees impact our school community. 

    • Carlos Marin Melendez, Woodford County High School

    • Paula Everhart, School-Based Therapist 

    • Rebekah Gooslin, Huntertown Elementary 

    • Lori Clayton, Central Office 


Superintendent’s Report
Dr. Lori Jones shared some of the many highlights that occurred in our schools in March. She announced that she will provide a budget presentation to the community later in the semester. School Report

Mrs. Rebecca Preston, Principal of Woodford County Middle School, presented on the big rocks: unity, “All Kids Thrive,” and students being future ready. Students presented on how the many opportunities available to them at Woodford County Middle School cultivate their passions and help prepare them for their next steps. Click here to view the presentation with visuals and more information.

Board Presentations
  • New High School Project Update: WCPS Chief Operations Officer Dr. Josh Rayburn provided updates to the Board regarding enhancing the parking lot and repairing the concession stand. 

  • Curriculum & Instruction Update: WCPS Chief Academic Officer Ryan Asher presented on the Cognia accreditation process and shared updates regarding the WCPS Access & Advocacy Team. Click here to view the presentation with visuals and more information. 


The Consent Agenda was approved, which included donations, fundraisers, travel, contracts, waiver of liability,  declaration of surplus property, grants, 2026-2027 Code of Conduct, KETS second offer, 2026-2027 WCPS Technology Plan, and WCHS Band Fees. 

Regular Agenda Items:

The board approved the notification of personnel matters and payment of bills, February Board meeting minutes, February financial report, hardship applications, ETC 2026-2027 tuition increase, student insurance option, nursing services position, UK clinical practices agreement, and amended the 2025-2026 calendar and the 2026-2027 calendar.
